- A personal statement (up to 400 words)

- A copy of your passport photo page
- An innovative way of introducing yourself. For example, applicants have sent photo collages, power point presentations, videos (2-minute maximum); and published materials. This is a chance for you to get creative and help us get to know you!
- OPTIONAL: One letter of recommendation from someone who knows you well in a professional or academic capacity

The French-American Foundation—United States launched the Immigration Journalism Award in 2012, the first award to specifically honor excellence in the coverage of immigration and integration issues worldwide.
This year, with the support of Cercle des médias, the French-American Foundation will recognize the work of two journalists for best immigration reporting: "The Immigration Journalism Prize of the French-American Foundation" (In English) and "Prix Cercle des médias" (in French).
Award recipients will be invited to attend and speak at a ceremony in September 2018 in New York, where their work will be celebrated in the presence of renowned media professionals. Go here for more information.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
I, the undersigned, have read and agreed to the following conditions for the French-American Foundation (FAF) Immigration Journalism Award:
I guarantee that the journalistic work submitted for the Immigration Journalism Award has been published by a media organization in North America or Europe in 2017-2018.
If selected, I agree to attend and speak at an awards ceremony to receive the Award and if requested, I agree to coordinate with FAF to organize, and participate in, one or more seminars and/or “master classes” for journalists, journalism students and/or the general public.
I am the sole author of the work and the work does not infringe any intellectual property or similar rights of any third party.
While I may retain all rights, title and interest to all intellectual property rights arising from the work, I agree to grant to FAF and funders of the Award program a royalty-free, worldwide, nonexclusive, sublicensable, transferable, irrevocable license to use, distribute, reproduce, publish, disseminate and/or modify the work selected. I also agree that FAF may translate the work and/or publish it in additional publications.
I guarantee that the work submitted does not contain any material that is libelous, in violation of any right of privacy or publicity, or harmful so as to subject FAF to liability to any third party or otherwise contrary to law.
I do not require any consent, permission or release from any third party in connection with submitting the work for the Award and, if selected, I do not need any such consent, permission or release with respect to any future use, distribution, reproduction, publication or dissemination of the work by FAF and its funders pursuant to the license described above (unless such consent, permission or release has already been obtained and provided to FAF).
